OcCre 1/24 Istanbul Tram Wooden Model Kit

Following a public edict dated August 20, 1869, the contract for the construction of the Dersaadet tramway was signed on the 30th of the same month. Five months later, on February 18, 1870, the Istanbul Tramway Company was founded.

In 1908, the Tunnel line was opened, later incorporated into the Tram Company consortium, and the connection to Taksim Square was established. The company, as well as the line, suffered various vicissitudes, including World War I, until June 1939, when it was nationalized and transferred to the IETT, which manages it to this day.

In the 1960s, all of Istanbul's tram lines were closed, and it wasn't until December 29, 1990, that the Taksim-Tunnel line reopened as a tourist tram, although today it has become another means of transportation in the city.
