The Hyuga was commissioned on March 18, 2009. The helicopter destroyer (first Hyuga-class vessel) of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force was incorporated into the 1st Escort Flotilla, 1st Escort Division and deployed to Yokosuka Base.
After being reorganized on March 25, 2015, it is now part of the 3rd Escort Flotilla, 3rd Escort Division and deployed to Maizuru Base.
The kit reproduces the latest state as a full hull model. It is a full-scale scale model that is easy for beginners to use with a limited number of parts. The package illustration is by Tankuro Kato.
